Description

The ring set with an onyx cameo depicting the profile of George IV within a border of cushion-shaped diamonds between rose-cut diamond foliate shoulders, mounted in silver and gold, reverse engraved GEORGIVS IV D.G.BRIT.REX MDCCCXX, size I, some small rose-cut diamonds deficient; together with a sardonyx cameo pearl and diamond brooch, the rectangular cut-cornered cameo depicting a female profile within a border of cushion-shaped diamonds and pearls, mounted in gold and a pair of matching pendant earrings.

Condition

Ring: Only the ring is from the jewellery collection of Daisy Fellowes. Soft gold soldering to the mount of ring. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 1.10 - 1.40 carats, bright stones. Some small rose-cut diamonds deficent to scrolled shoulders. Band very thin and delicate. Sardonyx Brooch: Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.20 - 1.40 carats, bright, lively stones. Small chips to edges of cameo. Pearls cream to pink bodycolour, medium to high lustre, some with rosé overtones, one slightly loose. Slight marks to reverse. Earrings: Small chips to edges of cameos. Pearls cream bodycolour, medium to high lustre, some with rosé overtones, one pearl deficient. Length approximately 50mm, well articulated. Light scratches to mount consistent with wear.
