Description
Set with an agate cameo of a mythological scene, within a gold border decorated with black enamel and set with half pearls and highlighted with four rose-cut diamonds, later pendant fitting.
Condition
Agate semi-transclucent, banded and displaying different colours from light to dark orangy red, browns and grey, natural fractures within the stone, some surface reaching on the back and front, only visible with magnification, light scratches. Half pearls well matched in size, medium to high lustre, some with rosé overtones. Diamonds bright and lively. Pin a little bent, pendant fitting possibly later. Mount with scratches consistent with age and wear. Tarnished could benefit from a careful professional clean. In very good condition.
