Description

Set with a carnelian intaglio of a Dionysian scene within a textured gold border of volutes and foliate motifs, decorated with four rose-cut diamonds, on a later gold bow brooch, fitted case.

Condition

Stamped with French import marks. Carnelian a rich semi-transclucent orangy red, light scratches. Diamonds bright and lively. Detachable bow surmount, slightly different in design, possibly later. Mount with scratches consistent with age and wear. Tarnished could benefit from a careful professional clean. In very good condition.
