Description

Designed as a collar of graduated textured links, inner circumference approximately 475mm, rubbed maker's marks for Peter Gorringe, British hallmarks for London indistinct.

Condition

Stamped 18K for 18 carat gold. Weighing approximately 205.6 grams. Stiff clasp. In very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Peter Gorringe studied silversmithing at the Central Saint Martin's School of Art and Design in London, in the early 1960s he went on to become an apprentice to Charles de Temple. Peter branched out on his own working to private commissions and exhibiting regularly through galleries specialising in Avant Garde jewellery, such as Electrum on Conduit Street, (it is now based on South Molton Street, W1). He still works on bespoke jewellery commissions today and also the restoration of antique pieces.
