Catalogue Note
The present work was awarded the "Sotheby's Under the Hammer" prize at the Fresh Paint 2 Contemporary Art Fair in Tel Aviv. The work was selected from approximately 1500 works by young artists. Aviv Naveh holds a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem and is studying for an MA in the Department of Film at the Tel Aviv University. Sinai is the last work in the series Signs of Identification, Naveh's final project at the Bezalel Academy. In contrast to the main theme of the series, the interaction of groups of people at a given place, this work depicts a lonely figure, focusing on the symbolism of the individual.
