George T. Brooks, entomologist working in Nepal from 1951 under President Truman's TCA program, acquired in 1953

Condition

A modern wax or varnish applied to the surface overall. Chips throughout including the right side of the lion vehicle's face and the upermost head of the tier of Ganesh heads. The most impotant damage is the loss of the principal lowered right hand of Ganesh. The stone tang drilled to secure the stele in the modern base.
