Condition
Although this picture is quite dirty and perhaps needs a new frame and some attention, the condition is very respectable. The canvas has been mounted on a board which is easily removable and which we recommend, to remove some bumps in the center of the canvas to the right of the figure. The canvas can either be lined or left unlined but stretched onto a stretcher. The paint layer is quite dirty and there are very few retouches of note, one of them being directly above the figure's left hand and the other two being in the lower dress and beneath the dress on the edge in the center of the picture. There is possibly very slight abrasion in the seat of the chair but this also could be intentional, since the abrasion is specific in this area and there does not appear to be any over cleaning to this picture. This picture will respond very well to careful restoration.
