• highly jeweled nickel lever movement with unusual chronograph work, bi-metallic compensation balance, wolf's tooth winding • gold cuvette also acting as memento dial, the memento dial engraved with a chapter ring and fixed with manually set hour and minute hand, the chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals in relief against a satin ground, memento dial signed Alphons Vorster • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet hands, subsidiary seconds • 18k yellow gold engine-turned case • unsigned

Condition

The movement is of good quality, but sluggish, although the watch was running as of the time of cataloguing. The repeat work was also slightly sluggish and the gongs will require adjustment. Also striking in phase. Overall the movement appears to require a full overhaul. There is also an early chronograph with start and stop and return to 0 feature. There are scratches to the dial. The inside back lid is signed Pateck (not a typo), Geneve.
