Grignion; Granges

• the first: gilt full plate cylinder movement signed Thos Grignion, Covent Garden, London, pierced and engraved balance cock, diamond endstone, baluster pillars, gilt dust cap • the second: associated later lever movement signed Des Granges, London, pierced and engraved balance cock • white enamel dials • both with Basse-Taille enamel floral decoration to the cases

Thos Grignion watch: The movement is not running but is complete, the balance and escapement wheel rotate freely. There is a fine hairline crack going across the dial and the end of the minute hand is missing. Inner case is scuffed throughout. Small areas of the enamel are missing to the outer case and there is scuffing to the enamel throughout. Des Granges watch: The associated movement is fully wound and will not run. There is substantial damage to the enamel dial to the left hand side and cracks at 5 o'clock and to the winding hole. Large areas of the enamel floral decoration is lacking to the case back and to the bezel
