  • Three gold and enamel verge watchescirca 1760
  • diameters: 38 mm, 40 mm & 43 mm
• the group including: two verge, one quarter repeating and an associated verge movement • each with white enamel dials • cases with polychrome enamel painted scenes depicting; a mother and her two children; after Pietro da Cortona painting of Erminia e Tancredi; a domestic scene of a family

Condition

Baillon watch: The movement is not running, fusee chain is broken. Repair work to the enamel dial around the winding hole and between 6 and 7 o'clock. Enamel to case back with a chip to the top right hand side and another smaller chip near to the thumbpiece. Michaud watch: The movement is not running but the repeating mechanism does try to strike. Later enamel dial in good condition. Enamel scene to the case back is rubbed and worn to the centre, there are some chips to the edge and some restoration to the bottom. There is also restoration and damage to the enamel panels on the bezel. Anonymous watch: Associated movement is not running, the repeating mechanism is striking. The later enamel dial with extensive damage. Enamel scene to case back is in good condition. Later stem and bow. tarnishing to the bezel.
