- A rare gold and enamel verge watchcirca 1765
- diameter 49 mm
• unsigned gilt full plate verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, fusee and chain, baluster pillars • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, Arabic outer, winding through dial • case back with polychrome enamel scene after the painting 'Pensent-ils au raisin' by Boucher, bezel similarly painted with continuous landscape, interior enamelled with basket of flowers, amethyst-set thumb piece
Condition
Movement running but would benefit from a clean and overhaul. Dial with hairline crack between 10 and 12 o'clock. Cracks visible to the inside of the case back. The scene to the outside back in very attractive condition. Bezel with several cracks and some chips to the inside edge.
