• nickel two train lever movement, some jewels carried in gold screwed chatons, compensation balance, adjusted, precision regulator, subsidiary 60 seconds hand on the back plate of the movement • gold cuvette engraved 'Jule A Burwell from his St Paul friends September 1892' and numbered 3340 • white enamel dial, Roman numerals for hours and Arabic for minutes, subsidiary dials for jumping seconds and 30-minute register • 18k yellow gold plain polished case, back with initials, split pusher to the band • movement signed, case, cuvette, movement numbered
Condition
Movement running, all functions appear fully operational while cataloguing. Dial and movement in very good condition. According to the Audemars Piguet archives, the watch was originally hunting cased, it could have been made into an open-faced case upon special request during the same time period. This watch is one of the rare examples of split jumping seconds chronographs made in the early years Audemars Piguet's production. **According to the Audemars Piguet archives, the present watch was originally hunting cased.**

Catalogue Note
Interestingly, according to to Brunner, Pfeiffer-Belli, Wehrli, Audemars Piguet, Second Edition, p.70, the first split seconds chrongoraph by Audemars Piguet was delivered to the U.S. in 1892, the same year as the inscription on the present watch.
