Condition

Painting appears to be relined. Painting seems to have retained its coloration, paint quality and saturation. Painting has thinned somewhat along chest and neck in the flesh tones of the sitter. U.V. reveals retouches throughout composition. These retouches are most apparent in the darks of the drapery, as well as in the dark column along the right edge. A few minor nicks in the face, though nothing significant. Painting presents a decorative image. In a carved giltwood frame. Gilt carved molding is attached to main frame with wooden pieces.
