  • marked on base and engraved Synagogue Lutzowstrasse 1898 / 5658
  • height 8 1/4 in.
  • 21cm
decorated with bands of Gothic trefoils, bosses, and with bells suspended from pairs of leaves

Provenance

This crown may have belonged to the synagogue at 16 Lützowstrasse, Berlin, built 1897-98.  It was damaged in 1938 and during the Second World War before being demolished in 1954.

Condition

one bell and its suspension ring and leaves lacking, otherwise good
