the leather binding applied with silver front and back panels, the former etched with menorah, hanging lamp and columns, applied with a filigree menorah and three bosses set with turquoises, the back panel etched with a repeating pattern of menorahs and four turquoise-set bosses, containing a 1920 Hebrew bible with dedicatory inscription pasted in

Provenance

The inscription records the gift from Rabbi Kook [Kuk] (1865-1935) to David Seigal on April 20, 1925.  Kook was the first Ashkenazi rabbi of pre-state Israel.
