Description
Old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.90 carats, mounted in platinum, manual movement, dial signed Tiffany & Co., Switzerland, length 7 5/8 inches.
Condition
Please note the length is approximately 6 3/8 inches, not 7 5/8 as stated in the catalogue. Manual movement, currently running. Movement signed Longines Watch Co. Swiss, numbered 4872 491. Movement is 15 jewels, 3 adjustments. The movement and dial are loose in the case. The bracelet set with 27 carved rubies and 116 old European-cut and single-cut diamonds of decorative quality. In good condition and fitted with a safety chain. Please see Notice Regarding Condition of Watches on page 188 of the catalogue.
This piece was a gift from John H. Wilkins, Jr to his wife of 27 years, Ruth M. Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins was the second-generation president of Wilkins Coffee Company of Washington, DC, a company well-known for its comedic muppet TV commercials in the late 1950s.
