- Van Cleef & Arpels
The pendant designed as a stylized flowerhead set with round and oval cabochon rubies, emeralds and sapphires, further decorated with 27 round diamonds weighing approximately 5.40 carats, supported on a gold chain decorated at intervals with three-stone clusters of ruby and sapphire beads, mounted in 18 karat gold, length 22 inches, pendant and necklace signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered 13598, assay marks and maker's mark, pendant detaches to be worn as a clip.
Condition
Good condition. The colored stones are a few shades deeper and considerably more muted than indicated by the catalogue illustration; translucent to semi-translucent with some surface-reaching inclusions. Diamonds are approximately F-G color and VVS-VS clarity. Maker's mark is for Pery & Fils; also bearing French hallmarks. Clip is signed Van Cleef & Arpels 13598 on pin bridge; necklace is similarly signed on the reverse of the oval cabochon ruby.
