Ruby and diamond cross pendant, circa 1880

Set in a cruciform pattern with 11 cushion-shaped rubies weighing approximately 8.00 carats, within borders of rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.50 carats, the pendant loop of quatrefoil shape similarly decorated, mounted in gold and silver. 

Good condition with wear commensurate with age. The near colorless diamonds are decorative in quality. The medium-deep purplish red rubies are less brightly colored than shown in the catalogue illustration and moderately included, some with silk.
