Catalogue Note
Comparative Literature:
Denise Ledoux-Lebard, Le Mobilier Français du XIX Siècle, illustrates p. 363, an identical table by Alphonse Jacob-Desmalter, delivered in 1837 for the Salon at the Grand Trianon, (now in the Grand Trianon, Musée national du chåteau de Versailles), reproduced here in fig.1.
An identical table featuring eight numbered drawers was made for the Queen and princesses and every residence of the d'Orléans family housed such a table.
This stamp was employed by Georges-Alphonse Jacob-Desmalter from 1830.
