La datation de ces fauteuils vers 1780-1785 implique plutôt une origine Penthièvre. Si le château de Chanteloup n'est acheté qu'en 1785 par le duc de Penthièvre, il semble cependant plus probable d'envisager un apport au mobilier Choiseul au moment de cette acquisition.
