Cette figure d' Enfant à demi allongé, la tête tournée sur le côté s'inspire d'un bronze d'Alessandro Algardi représentant Hercule enfant luttant avec un serpent conservé dans la collection du marquis d'Exeter à Burghley House (Angleterre). On retrouve la même composition et le même jeu des draperies. L'enfant associé à un sablier représente le plus souvent une Allégorie du Temps ou une Vanité.
