Condition
Good condition overall with minor oxidation and minor surface dust in the crevisses. Four volutes at the first intersection with looses are cast separately. One lion's head missing. Very decorative piece.
Bon état général avec quelques traces d'oxydation et un peu de poussière dans les parties creuses.
Quatre volutes reposant sur le pied fondues séparemment avec quelques manques, amovibles et une tête manquante. Pièce très décorative.

Ce grand candélabre est la réplique exacte d'un candélabre en bronze d'une paire exécutée par le sculpteur Annibale Fontana vers 1580 pour l'église de la Certosa de Pavie et toujours visible in situ (cf. Venturi, op.cit., fig. 386).
