Ce monogramme correspond aux initiales de Marie-José, reine d'Italie, fille du roi des belges Albert 1er et mariée au roi Umberto II en 1930 à Rome. Une paire de candélabres identique a été vendue par Sotheby's à New York le 9 novembre 2006, lot 113.
