Relined and paint surface has been somewhat pressed as a result. Under a dirty varnish. With naked eye, one can see what appears to be an old repaired tear in upper canvas which runs from upper edge down to area just to the right of the larger parrot's head. Some other old repairs are visible at upper center and in brown areas of background which are a bit thin. Ultraviolet light does not reveal much, but it is difficult to see through the old varnish. Most of the old restorations are visible without uv. Painting would benefit from re-addressing of the old, visible retouches and appearance could be improved. In a very ornate carved and gilt wood frame.
