Condition

Fabric backed. Oxidized dark browns with some visible foundation throughout. Some small scattered reweaves, with the largest being approximately 3 inches by 1 inch in lower left side of field. Further scattered reweaves in field and some restitching in border. Some scattered minor restitched areas. Some visible sewing at color changes. Scattered spot stains. Rewoven fire place area, approximately 5 feet by 20 inches, at lower end. Scattered spot stains. Ends and sides folded under and sewn. Good overall condition, unusual early design for a Napoleon III carpet, will enhance with cleaning.
