- Cafetière-filtre en vermeil par Martin-Guillaume Biennais, Paris 1809-1819
Cet objet est sans doute une des premières cafetières-filtres réalisées suite à la découverte du pharmacien originaire de Rouen, François-Antoine Descroizilles, en 1802.
Un dessin par Biennais (et probablement Percier) représentant une telle cafetière, aux armes de l'empereur Napoléon I, se trouve dans les collections du musée des Arts décoratifs de Paris.
- Haut. 41,5 cm, 2.048 gr. en tout ; 16 1/4 in high, 65oz 17 dwt
reposant sur trois pieds griffes sommés de sphynges, le corps décoré d'une frise de danseuses autour d'une guirlande de fleurs, le bec verseur en tête de cygne, avec sa lampe, le corps du filtre uni, avec un tamis et un motif poussoir circulaire
Condition
Excellente qualité. Très bon état sauf la prise du bec verseur en ébène accidentée.
