Description
Twelve chairs stamped 1861 twice to the underside of the seat rails, one chair with penciled monogram HJ to the underside of the seat rail.

Condition
I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XVI stamped 1861 twice to the underside of the seat rails; X with a penciled monogram HJ to the inside of the back seat rail.
Chair I – with slightly loose back legs
Chair III with small chip to molded edge of around flower head above front right leg.
Chair IV with small chips to molded edge to top left corner of cresting rail; previously fitted with corner blocks, the screw holes now filled in.
Chair V previously fitted with corner blocks to the back legs, the screw holes now filled in, the back legs slightly loose.
Chair VI – the back legs are rather loose from the seat frame and in need of re-gluing.
Chair VII with small chip to molded edge of top right corner of cresting rail; slight separation of right side rail facing from seat rail.
Chair XI with small chips to the to left corner of the cresting rail and to front legs above the brass casters.
Chair XII previously fitted with corner blocks, the screw holes now filled in.
Chair XVIII – back legs slightly loose from seat frame and in need of re-gluing.
Overall with old marks, scratches, scuffs, and bruises and the occasional nicks and chips to carving especially to the feet, and around the flower-head carving to the aprons and to the corners of the cresting rails; minor areas of old worm to some seat rails.
