  • the first apparently unmarked; the second with maker's mark ?Avila, Nueva Guatemala
  • diameter of basket 12 1/2 in., length of basin 15 1/8 in.
  • 31.7, 38.3cm
the first shaped circular, pierced with panels of scalework, diaper and trellis, the center engraved with a ribbon-tied bouquet, matching swing handle, the second with deep lobed and fluted sides

Condition

the first good condition, the second with crescent-shaped repair (partly obscuring mark) suggesting split along line of chin guard for shaving; otherwise good, basket with charming engraving
