  • base double-struck with maker's mark, handle with harp

octagonal with incurved corners, the everted sides engraved with floral garlands suspended by reserves enclosing flowerheads below a a pierced band of stylized foliage linked by swags, center engraved with contemporary arms in shield, shaped reeded swing handle with later initials WC, raised on octagonal base band pierced with circles and vertical lines

Provenance

The arms are those of Pratt impaling Tynte for Joseph Pratt of Cabra Castle, col. of militia, b. 1775 and his first wife Jemima Roberta, daughter and co-heir of Sir James Stratford Tynte, Bart. of Tynte Park, whom he married in 1806.
