Catalogue Note

Of all the variety of subject matter that Bobak paints, she is best known for her crowd scenes.  Brian Foss comments: 'These large, dynamic paintings record public events as aesthetic experiences... She also sees in crowds a beauty and vitality that she finds emotionally and psychologically compelling.'  These works celebrate life in all its moments whether they are of ordinary, ceremonial, or historic events.
