This work is in very good condition with no apparent problems under UV. There is a minor loss in the lower right corner due to rubbing under the frame.

This work was painted when Macdonald, along with fellow artist Maxwell Bates, was in Calgary for judging an art exhibit at the Calgary Stampede. It was also the year of the inception of Painters Eleven, of which, Macdonald was a charter member.
