Condition
The work is unlined and has the original stretcher. There is a 5cm by 5cm patch on the reverse of the canvas (centre) reflecting the retouching that has been completed on the front of the canvas - 1cm by 1cm spot and 0.5cm by 0.5cm spot. There are three other small areas of flaring; one to the left of the patch and two others (lower centre); this is confirmed by UV inspection. There is fine cracking throughout the sky consistent with the amount of paint applied to that area. This work would benefit from a light clean.
