Provenance
In a letter from Rubery Bennett of the Australian Fine Arts Gallery, Sydney to Gayfield Shaw on 3 March 1925, Bennett notes that this work was among the Gruners he had received from Shaw 'this day' and he notes a price of 15 guineas against it, it is titled Cloud Effects at Sea, probably no. 255 in Gruner ledger, sold to A.L. Shaw through Gayfield Shaw for £8

There is scattered fly spotting across the surface of the picture, it would benefit from a light clean. The work is otherwise in good stable condition.
