  • diameter 8 1/2 in.
  • 21.6 cm
each painted in the center with two maidens surrounded by trees, clouds and rockwork on the flattened rim, the reverse with flowering branches, apocryphal Chengua mark to the base. Together with a shallow blue and white dish painted with seven phoenix medallions and scrolling clouds, apocryphal Xuande mark to the base. Minor small chips and fritting. 3 pieces.

Condition

The pair of dishes are in fair condition; one with small firing flaws on the rim and minor kiln grit on the interior well; the other with small chips to the foot rim, the largest 3 cm wide. The phoenix dish with light surface abrasions on the interior; scattered pinholes and minor pitting.
