Description
each a mirror image of each other; carved in the round and split in half; mounted on shaped wood base; wonderful blended paint and patina; some old, early touch up where the base of wings meet the bodies; normal wear for age, small chips to wingtips; some touch up of paint to wings and feet; drake has minor touch ups near the eye.

minor touch ups, some tiny paint specks, wings re-glued and repainted, maybe some early repairs

Catalogue Note
The half-body flyers are significantly more rare than Wheeler's regular duck decoys. It is unusual that they were found on the plaques as almost all of Wheeler's half flyers were made with no backboards.
