Condition
Secondary wood is white pine, proper right rear leg with ebonized foot facings restored, proper left front leg possibly with side ebony foot facings restored, proper left rear leg with two ebony foot facings restored, refinished.

Catalogue Note
The oak leaf and acorn central medalion on the table's top relates directly to a Baltimore games table in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum (see Benjamine A. Hewitt, Patricia Kane and Gerald W.R. Ward, The Work of Many Hands: Card Tables in Federal America 1790-1820, (New Haven, CT: Yale University Art Gallery, 1981), p.171-3, no. 51). A rare pair of games tables by John Shaw also has sting inlay along the end-grain of the top (see William Voss Elder III and Lu Bartlett, John Shaw: Cabinetmaker of Annapolis, (Baltimore: MD: Baltimore Museum of Art, 1983), p. 155-57, no. 57).
