the first signed Hingqua, painter (Taitsing), l.r.; in what appears to be the original black-painted Chinese carved and ebonized frames; with a gilded plaque; inscribed Clipper Ship TAITSING 815 tons and the second Clipper Brig VENUS, Built by Connell, Glasgow for J. Findlay.

The Taitsing was built in 1865 and was lost in 1883. She transported cargos of tea.
