the first signed Hingqua, painter (Taitsing), l.r.; in what appears to be the original black-painted Chinese carved and ebonized frames; with a gilded plaque; inscribed Clipper Ship TAITSING 815 tons and the second Clipper Brig VENUS, Built by Connell, Glasgow for J. Findlay.

relined, though canvas loose; stretcher bar marks with in-paint scattered; new stretchers.
