Description

  • HEIGHT 17 7/8 IN.
the body painted in gilding with vignettes of dragons in pursuit of 'flaming pearls' and fish with crabs, among scrolling clouds, the trumpet neck with two large phoenix in flight, all reserved on a powder-blue ground.

Condition

The vase is in good overall condition with expected wear to aspects of the gilding, particularly on the border panels. The dragon and phoenix decoration still exhibit strong gilding. The luting line at the neck appears to have fired to a slightly darker blue. Some minor pinholes and iron spots on the interior of the mouth.
