Condition
Overall in very good condition. The copper standard with evidence of tarnish that would benefit from a professional cleaning. The light socket in the standard with a removable glass disc and copper plate to the reverse of the standard which can be removed to insert the bulb. This lot is being sold with a second original glass disc. The fish is made of small pieces of the glass. Each has been filed and there are no sharp edges. The glass pieces are held in place with silicon, which is visible throughout and not evenly applied. The result is that the fish has a slight degree of flexion. The fish with some minor scratches, but all glass pieces are fixed and none are loose. The fish is removable from the glass box. There is an applied silicon strip to one edge of the glass box which denotes the placement of the fish sculpture. The fish is balanced on the edge of the glass box. The glass box can be removed from the copper stand as well.

The present lot is a variant of the "Fish Lamp" series executed primarily in Colorcore by Frank Gehry during the 1980s. Only two examples of this variant were made, and the other is in the collection of Frank Gehry.
