  • Chair, Model No. 355

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The oak surfaces throughout appear to retain their original finish, with some light surface scratches, abrasions, edge wear, and scattered transparent light surface spotting (presumably from a splattered liquid on the lower legs and stretchers) consistent with age and use. The proper right leg post with a vertical stress fracture (extending 5 inches from the bottom) which appears stable. The proper right rear foot with a small edge loss at the exterior rear corner. The chair retains its original leather, which is in remarkable condition. The leather surfaces throughout showing gentle surface wear, surface abrasions, surface soiling, and scattered staining consistent with age and gentle use. The seat with scattered crazing to the leather, all of which appears tight and stable. The brass tacks all appear to be original and undisturbed, with light surface wear, rubbing, and minor discoloration consistent with age and use. A very handsome example showing great integrity to the original leather and brass tacks.
