"Un emblema spezzato mi è sempre sembrato completo, integro e vero. La mancanza del naso, o di un braccio, mi sono sempre sembrati l'intero aspetto di una forma. Mitoraj è arrivato subito a questa conclusione, alla sintesi: che gli eroi – i suoi, nostri contemporanei – debbono essere spezzati. Perfetti, anche da spezzati. Così Mitoraj ha inventato un sistema animale molto poetico. E le sue sculture non sono cosa morta e leggendario. Ma piene di vita. Dialoghi imprevisti".
