cast, chased and embossed with the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception after Murillo's La Immaculada de Soult of 1678

Catalogue Note

Murillos painting of 1678 after which the backplate is embossed takes it name from General Soult who brought it to France from Seville in 1813. It was returned later to the Prado.
