Description
- Clock 58cm. 22¾in. high; Bracket 20cm. 8in. high
6¾-inch enamel dial with central alarm disc, the movement with rare Chevalier de Béthune escapement, pull quarter repeating, silk suspension, pull-wound quarter repeating on two bells, the pull-wound alarm acting on a further top-mounted bell, the cadrature mounted on the backplate, waisted formerly ebonised case with rococo scroll surmount, trellis and flower side frets and further scroll mounts, on a conforming bracket,
Condition
Dial has chips around the winding hole and numerous hair cracks around the edge. Movement appears to be complete but is not working and is extremely dirty, crutch broken but we have it, it will require complete service and overhaul. Case originally ebonised but now stripped and polished, many old cracks, scuffs and marks throughout. With pendulum, winder and case key.
