Description

wearing loosely-fitting robes decorated with cloud scrolls and holding a bowl in both hands, wood stand. 24cm., 9 3/8 in; together with a gilt and blue-ground bowl and dish painted with prunus and roundels respectively.

Condition

The figure - The head is repaired and there is a chip to the edge of the robe where this meets the back of the neck. The right foot is missing. The thumb of the right hand is missing and there is damage to three fingers of the left hand. The Bowl - chipped at the rim (1cm long) and two hairline cracks from the rim (3cm and 5cm long). There is also one circular crack at the rim. Loss of gilt/gilt rubbing to the exterior. The Dish - gilt rubbing to the interior and exterior (quite extensive).
