each ovoid body flanked by winged caryatids, one painted with domestic scene, the other with gambling scene, reserved against gilt ground, the reverse gilt-painted with musical trophy, wear to gilding

Condition

In overall good condition with some wear to the gilding, as visible in the catalogue image. Minor light surface scratching, few minor losses to the gilding and painting. Few minor retouches. One winged caryatid handle restored and partly overpainted. Neck to one vase probably re-attached, minor firing flaws. Gilding to necks probably refreshed.
