Description
- 26.5 and 21.5cm. high.
each with urn-shaped nozzle above addorsed female headed tapering reeded and turned stem terminating in three pairs of feet, on circular foliate-cast and reeded foot, together with a pair of gilt and patinated bronze candlesticks with Egyptian headed stems, early 19th century
Literature
The original design for these candlesticks is shown on a drawing in the catalogue of an anonymous Parisian bronze manufacturer, circa 1810 (see Hans Ottomeyer / Peter Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, München 1986, vol. I, p. 326, 5.1.7.)
Condition
In overall good condition with some minor dents, marks, scratches, wear to the gilding / patination. The larger pair with few minor casting flaws.
