Condition
Both paintings are greener and deeper in tone than the catalogue illustrations suggest. Both paintings have an old effective relining. No major damages are apparent. Both paint surfaces are secure, though some areas of abrasion are apparent. Inspection under UV light is largely impeded by the dirty varnish layer, but a few retouchings are revealed in the left group of trees in the painting on the left in the catalogue.
Overall, both paintings are in very good condition.
Offered in plain wood frames with gilt fillets and red velours inlay, in good condition. (MW)
