Description

  • 244cm. high.
33.5-cm arched dial with engraved border and centre, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Lourens Du Chesne Amsterdam, pierced blued hands and subsidiary seconds, apertures for date, day, month and moonphase in the finely engraved arch, season spandrels, anchor movement with trip repeating rack Dutch quarter striking on two alternating bells, alarm removed, burr walnut veneered case with shaped cornice over pierced frets, break arch glazed door, trunk with rare concave corners and long door with chequered inlay banding, similar inlay to the base with scroll sides raised on bun feet, finials lacking

Condition

dial with good quality engraving and lay out in original condition but dirty, minute hand repaired, movement able to function but very dirty and in need of a complete overhaul, alarm removed, case in reasonable condition, hood with repairs and some reconstructions, door restored, top of the hood lacking, frets restored, trunk with some inlay lacking, base with inlay lacking to the left side of the scroll side, lower plinth nd feet not originl (should be improved), together with a pendulum, 2 weights, winder and a doorkey
