Description

  • 53cm. high
12.5-cm enamel dial with Roman numerals signed Barancourt A Paris, outer five minute marking and red date numerals, pierced gilt hands and blued date pointer, flat bottomed countwheel bell striking anchor movement lacking silk suspended pendulum, break arch marble case surmounted by an urn and mounted with finely cast and chiseled ormolu foliate mounts, fluted pillars and scrolls to the sides, break front acanthus moulded plinth with pierced mounts raised on toupee feet, mounted on a marble plinth with beaded ormolu rim

Condition

dial in original condition, an arched hairline crack at the rim near 15 and a few thin small cracks at the rim which mostly fall under the bezel, hands fine, movement able to function and in fair condition, moight benefit from a clean, pendulum lacking, case in original but dirty condition with the mounts of good quality casting and gilding, the whole should clean up nicely, one corner of the marble restored and two pieces of bead moulding loose but with the clock, together with a winder, pendulum lacking.
