  • Approximately 257cm. high, 205cm. wide
from the Story of Dido and Aeneas, with various figures placed around the feet of two standing classical warriors, within a three sided border, lacking top border, the vertical borders woven with scrolling golden acanthus leaves and flowers on a brown ground, and lower border of exuberant swag of flowers and foliage in yellow, on brown ground

Condition

With patches and associated sections, particularly in the lower section of the tapestry, see for example various patches and repairs, and the head and torso, in the bottom right corner. Lacking top border. Lower horizontal border associated and cut. Lower right corner is a square patch. Old repais in areas and paint/dyes added to give some colour in areas.
